Bridal Skincare Routine by a Licensed Aesthetician
My Wedding-Ready Skin Protocol (From a Sheboygan Aesthetician)

When I started prepping my skin for my wedding, I kept things very intentional. No overdoing it, no last-minute experimenting, and no chasing trends. I focused on barrier health, consistency, and treatments I trust enough to do on myself.
As an aesthetician, this is the same thoughtful, long-game approach I use when helping clients prep for weddings, photo sessions, or any important event.
Here’s exactly what I did and why I recommend a three-month skin prep plan.
As a Sheboygan aesthetician, I recommend starting wedding or event skincare at least three months in advance. This allows enough time for treatments like microneedling, chemical peels, and professional facials to stimulate collagen, improve skin texture, and fully heal before the big day. A well-planned skincare timeline combined with a simplified at-home routine helps create clear, even, photo-ready skin without last-minute stress.
Microneedling for Wedding-Ready Skin
Step 1: Three Months Out
Microneedling
Microneedling was my starting point. I wanted to target old breakout scarring, stimulate collagen, and even out my skin tone. This treatment is my go-to for all three.
It’s quick, effective, and the results are always beautiful when done correctly. Starting three months out gave my skin plenty of time to heal, rebuild, and improve before the big day.

Step 2: Three Months Out
Professional At-Home Skin Care
Are you wondering how far in advance to start wedding skincare? Around this time, I realized my skin barrier needed attention. Between winter weather and, let’s be honest, age, my skin was feeling dry and reactive.
This is something I see often with clients at Top Beauty Bar in Sheboygan—too many products and not enough barrier support. So I stripped my routine way down and focused on consistency.
My simplified routine:
IS Clinical Cleansing Complex – AM & PM
IS Clinical Active Serum – AM & PM (only when needed, my skin doesn’t like a lot of product)
Top Beauty Bar Vitamin Fortified Lite Moisturizer – AM & PM
Sometimes less really is more.

Step 3: Two Months Out
Chemical Peel
After microneedling, I allowed my skin a full month to recover before introducing the next active step. One month later, I did the IS Clinical Pro Peel.
The peel gave my epidermis a boost, reactivated the healing process from microneedling, and helped clear up a few lingering breakouts. It really amplified the results I was already seeing.

Step 4: One Month Out
When to Schedule Tox Before a Wedding or Event
About a month before my wedding, I also did tox, dysport to be exact. This timing is intentional and something I always recommend for events.
One month out gives everything time to fully settle, soften, and look natural—no surprises, no stiffness, and no rushing results. By the time my wedding week arrived, everything looked relaxed, refreshed, and completely like me.

Step 5: One week Later
A Facial.
While it’s not as nice as getting one from someone else, I could still treat using my professional products, machines and tools. I got my skin deep-cleaned and happy a few weeks before.
The tox paired beautifully with the facial I did around the same time and helped create a smooth, rested look without overdoing it.
That combination laid the perfect foundation for the final treatment before the big day.
Step 6: One Week Out
Microneedling (Again)
I typically need about a week after microneedling to hit that post-treatment glow—and I timed this one perfectly.
A few days before my wedding, my skin was calm, clear, and glowing. Even with my monthly cycle landing exactly when I would normally break out, my skin stayed clean, clear, and photo-ready.
This is what intentional skincare looks like. Thoughtful timing, the right treatments, and a routine that supports your skin instead of stressing it.
